Dead woman blamed for own death
Berlin - An obese man successfully reduced his original five-year sentence for fatally squashing his wife to only a warning for causing bodily hurt due to negligence.
In a turn of events, the court also ruled that the dead woman was most responsible for her own death, as she did not visit a doctor despite coughing blood for a few days.
The man, a 52-ear-old bus driver who weighs 130 kilograms toppled and fell onto his wife during a scuffle in April 2006. The scuffle started after his wife poured beer over his laptop due to differences over music.
Six weeks later, the 46-year-old woman who was less than half her husband's wieght, died from chest injuries and an autopsy found she had 18 broken ribs and several litres of fluid in one of her lungs.

Man U edges closer to title after comeback win
Comeback wins are earmarks of grit, determination and luck. Needless to say, comeback wins are required hallmarks of champions - a hallmark synonymous with the Red Devils this season.
While 17-year-old Marcheda's pivotal goals ensured Man United's participation in the race, Michael Carrick's 86th minute goal yesterday would probably be the most important last gasp goal for United all season, should they avoid defeat against Arsenal in the next upcoming game.
A battling Wigan could not prevent a superior Man United side from tugging all three points from the match last night. Going into the break with a one nil deficit from a Rodallega strike, want-away striker, Carlos Tevez pulled one back with an audacious back-heel within minutes after his sub-in.
In the 86th minute, Carrick secured all three points for his team when he drove home John O'Shea's pass from the edge of the box. If anyone can remember, Carrick was also involved in Marcheda's deflection-cum-goal in another comeback win against Sunderland a few weeks ago.
For the Liverpudians, all hope now lies with the young Arsenal squad that will be facing the Red Devils this weekend.
If any Liverpool fan needs a hint of a miracle, they can find hope in the fact that the last time when a Liverpool player, John Barnes was awarded Footballer of the Year Award by the Football Writers' Association, Liverpool also won the League title. This year, Stevie G had been voted the same award, so who knows what may happen this weekend.
As they say, history likes to repeat itself.
